Will it help me if i do AAT before i apply for ACCA or will it be a waste of time?

hi..i realy want to know if doing AAT will b helpful if am thinking of doing ACCA after that?am realy confused,please help...i have the basic knowledge about accounting and am a 17 year old student..please help me make the right choice
