Is a Master's Degree in Mathematics useful or useless in the job market?

With a bachelors or masters in Mathematics they often work in the software industry designing the mathematics used in computer programs, while programmers do the actual coding. Most software has math in it and math majors design it. The amount of math behind Computer Generated Animation is awesome.
